“Look before you leap” is a maxim which holds good in every sphere of life. It means that we should ponder over its pros and cons before doing any work. We may come to grief, if we act thoughtlessly. The story of a foolish goat and cunning fox teaches us the same lesson. The foolish goat should have thought twice before leaping into the well. The wise jackal saved his life when he saw the foot prints of a lion going into the cave. His thinking before hand stood him in a good stead and he ran away. A student should think twice before choosing his subjects. We should not be hasty in choosing our friends of profession. A wise man plans his future well. We should not take wrong steps in haste; rather we should think before we speak and look before we leap.
